Prof. Dorival Bruni
Geologist, graduated in 1969 from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), with 46 years of professional activities. Master of Geosciences UFBA, retired assistant professor from Institute of Geography of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Currently, as a full geologist, he is technical staff member of the social responsibility management of Petrobras, in Rio de Janeiro. He worked as a geologist, head of geochemistry sector of the brazilian geological survey in Bahia and as coordinator of environmental programs in the former mining Petrobras S.A. – Petromisa, in Rio de Janeiro. He is founder and President of Biosphere Global Institute, and has participated for 14 years as the President of the Brazilian Institute of Specialized Studies – IBRAE.
He received the Meritorious title of Rio de Janeiro, awarded by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro; Diploma and Medal Pedro Ernesto, granted by the Municipal Chamber of Rio de Janeiro; Citizen Diploma Espírito-Santense, awarded by the Legislative Assembly of the State Espírito Santo; and the Medal of Merit Agostinho Neto, awarded by the University of Angola, where he served as visiting Professor. Currently holds the position of Honorary Consul of the Republic of Fiji in Rio de Janeiro.
As President of the Biosphere Global Institute, he coordinated exchange programs and technical cooperation in the environmental field along with government and academic institutions of the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, South Africa, Australia and Japan.
