Prof. Ofira Ayalon holds a Ph.D. from Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, Technion, Haifa (2000). Her study is entitled: Environmental accounting as a means for the development of solid waste management policy in Israel. Since her graduation (2002), she acts as head of Environment cluster at the Samuel Neaman Institute, Technion and conducts research and teaches at the University of Haifa, Israel.
Since 2010 she is the Director of NRERC- Natural Resource and Environmental Research Center at the University of Haifa and the head of the Energy Management and Policy program at the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management. As of 2014 she is the head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Faculty of Management, University of Haifa. Her research topics involve a wide range of activities related to environmental research and policy implications. The studies have served as a model for nationally recognized, updated energy and environmental activities for a variety of academic and public bodies that promote environmental policy in Israel. The resulting reports are submitted and jointly followed-up in cooperation with the Ministries of Finance, National Infrastructure and Environmental Protection, as well as other relevant government bodies.
